Routine OB Visits
Routine obstetric visits include visits every four weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. After this point you will be seen weekly until you have your baby. At each visit we check for fetal heart tones, weight, blood pressure and urine analysis. Of course, each visit is an opportunity to address any questions you might have.
At specific intervals during your pregnancy you will have scheduled tests.
- First prenatal visit-blood type, blood counts, tests for infectious diseases, pap smear
- 15-20 weeks-genetic screening tests with blood work are offered and optional
- 18-22 weeks- anatomy screening ultrasound, we may or may not be able to tell the sex of the baby
- 26-28 weeks- glucose screening for gestational diabetes, repeat blood counts, Rhogam injection if blood type is Rh negative
- 34-36 weeks- Group B Beta Strep testing
